The Heinousness of Sin

This sermon is preached by Joseph Bellamy (1719—1790). He was a “son of thunder,” excelling even Whitefield in theological clarity. Bellamy wrote True Religion Delineated.
Sin is against the character of God. The cultural (and even the church’s) definition of sin is so far from God’s definition of sin. No person can feel the ugliness, shame, or weight of sin until he sees sin as God sees sin.
