We were privileged to release his multimedia Bible study, The Nature & Practice of True-Hearted Discipleship, on November 15. This 8-week study guides you back to Scripture in order to examine Jesus’ descriptions of what it means to be His follower.
The following excerpt is from Lesson 8: “The Disciple’s Highest Privilege.”
In God’s adoption, you “have a right to all the privileges of the sons of God.”
God is your Father (Read Matthew 6 and count how often Jesus tells His disciples that God is their Father).
The Son of God is your elder brother (Hebrews 2:11).
You are indwelled by the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15–16).
Astonishingly, you are a joint heir, with Christ, of the glory of God (Romans 8:17).
You have unhindered access in prayer into God’s presence as His bloodredeemed child (Hebrews 4:15–16).
You have the blessed privilege of being loved by a Father who disciplines you for your good, as well as for His glory (Hebrews 12:5–11).
You are loved by a Father who not only knows all your needs but who is pledged to meet all your needs (Matthew 6:25–34).
