G3 Conference: Reformation Heritage Books

We spent last week at the G3 conference in Atlanta, Georgia. It was great to meet many of you and hear how God has used the Behold Your God studies in your lives. In the midst of conference activity, Matthew was able to sit down and record two podcast episodes with some old friends.

For this week’s episode, that friend is David Woollin, sales and marketing manager for Reformation Heritage Books. We have mentioned RHB in several podcasts and their books are regularly featured in our “Recommended Resource” section at the bottom of each email.

David and Matthew ran into each other several times at different conferences over the years and formed a friendship. That friendship led to an official partnership between Media Gratiae and Reformation Heritage Books to produce the film Puritan: All of Life to the Glory of God.

They share how that Puritan got started, the heart behind it, and how it was pitched to Dr. Joel Beeke. They could both talk about the project all day, but Matthew wants David to share some of the upcoming titles RHB is going to publish in 2019. Some of them are not available yet, but you can be on the lookout for them.

0:00-6:00 Matthew introduces David. He briefly shares how he came from Yorkshire, England, to America to study at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He and Matthew share how Puritan went from an idea he and Matthew talked about at conferences to a reality. They also share why it is so important that we, as Western Christians, know and learn from these historical men and women.

6:00-18:00 It becomes very clear why David is so passionate about this project. Just talking about the Puritans excites him and he questions what these men and women would think if they walked into our country club-style churches today. Matthew shares why he is passionate about the project and hopes it introduces a new generation to these pillars of the Christian faith and that God uses their stories to put steel in the spine of believers today. Links to where you can preorder Puritan and watch the trailer for the film are on under Show Notes.

18:00-24:00 Matthew and David could spend the entire episode talking about the Puritan project, but Matthew also wants to introduce you to some of the books RHB will publish in 2019. That list includes a book for young readers, a biography, the collected prayers of John Knox, a modern writer on encouragement, a practical book on eschatology, and a children’s story Bible.

*Make sure to look out for a cameo from our good friend and director of the Puritan project, Stephen McCaskell.

We also visit Pat Daly at the Banner of Truth table. Links to all the books they mention are under Show Notes because we do not want there to be a barrier between you and any resource mentioned in any episode.
