Salvation in Full Color

In this inaugural episode of The Whole Counsel (previously The Behold Your God Podcast), John introduces several of the changes to the podcast. We’re in a new location, we have a new co-host (Chuck Baggett), and we have a new sound.

But a lot of things are staying the same. We are still discussing the same eternal truths and we are still looking to writers and pastors of the past for help. This week, John and Chuck introduce the source material we will be using over the next several weeks. This book is Salvation in Full Color.

Salvation in Full Color is edited by Richard Owen Roberts and contains sermons by Great Awakening preachers on the topic of salvation.

Roberts introduces the book by pointing to the character of God, which frames the way we view salvation. He walks through four points: God, self, sin, and salvation. If God is as He describes Himself to be, then what must we be? Only a proper view of God can help us to see ourselves, our sin, and the beauty of salvation as they really are.

We will be walking through these chapters from Salvation in Full Color in the coming weeks:

  • The Character of God

  • Law of God

  • Total Depravity

  • The Heinousness of Sin

  • Dead Works

  • Divine Love

  • The Atonement

  • Justification by Faith

  • Our Responses to the Gospel

We hope you’ll join us as we read and study Salvation in Full Color together.
