Servant Songs II
We’re continuing our series on the Servant Songs. The Servant Songs include Isaiah 42:1–4; Isaiah 49:1–6; Isaiah 50:4–7; and Isaiah 52:13–53:12.
Where do you look when you find yourself in a particularly dark spiritual place?
Look to God! “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other” (Isaiah 45:22). We are commanded to look away from ourselves and to look to Him.
In Isaiah 41, Isaiah instructs the people to look at the worthless things one more time—idols and idol makers. There is a similarity there. They are already becoming like their idols. What about you? What are you worshiping? You will look like what you love. You are being fashioned into the image of the God (or god) we are constantly looking at.
Will you spend time this week looking at your idols and pray that you would see them as God sees them?
