Servant Songs V
If you were to describe the coming Messiah, where would you begin? Isaiah begins in a strange place. He starts with the effective ministry of Jesus. He compares the perfect Servant of God with the failing servant in Israel. He contrasts the suffering of Israel due to their sinfulness and Jesus' suffering due to His obedience. There is a great deal to consider in this week's episode.
This week, we’re looking at the Servant Song of Isaiah 50. In the previous chapters, we see that Israel has become idolatrous. She has filled her life with other gods and failed to be the servant of God she was called to be.
Israel no longer believed it was worth seeking, meeting, answering God. She had forgotten the power He possessed to rescue.
Is this you? There are times we may drift from God or be slow to meet Him. But, Christian, we have pictures here of Christ here to fill our hearts with adoration and worship. He is worthy. Follow Him!
