The Character of God
We shared our first episode of The Whole Counsel (previously The Behold Your God Podcast) last week. We’re in a new location, we have a new co-host (Chuck Baggett), and we have a new sound.
But a lot of things are staying the same. We are still discussing the same eternal truths and we are still looking to writers and pastors of the past for help. This week, John and Chuck discuss the character of God in the book Salvation in Full Color.
This week, we look at the Character of God in a sermon by Timothy Dwight, born in 1752, at the tail end of the First Great Awakening. He later becomes the President of Yale. He led chapel and took the students through a series on the character and attributes of God. This led to a revival throughout the college beginning in 1795.
The more clearly we see God’s character, the more we will be humbled and the less we will think of ourselves. You can read the whole sermon here.
We hope you’ll join us as we read and study Salvation in Full Color together.
