September Update for Supporters

Dear Friends and Supporters,

In case you missed it: We have replaced our weekly updates with a more detailed quarterly report. We feel this is the best way for you to have some small idea of how God is using your contributions. We are grateful for you and for your continued support of Media Gratiae.

We wanted to update you on the last few months and our upcoming projects.

If you don’t know, Media Gratiae is a Latin phrase for “the means of grace.” The means of grace are the tools God has given His people to expand His kingdom. This includes the Word of God, prayer, fasting, worship, fellowship, and more.

The means of grace are in my hand
The blessing is at God’s command
Who must the work fulfill;
And though I read, and watch and pray,
Yet here the Lord directs my way
And worketh all things still.

I cannot speak a proper word,
Nor think aright, but from the Lord
Preparing heart and tongue;
In Nature, I can see no good,
But all my good proceeds from God,
And does to grace belong.

I see it now and do confess
My utter need of Jesus’ grace,
And of His Spirit’s light;
I beg his kind and daily care;
O Lord, my heart and tongue prepare
To think and speak aright.

(John Berridge)

Some current projects include our podcasts: The Whole Counsel, Ransom for Many, Hymn Stories, A Word in Season, and From the Heart of Spurgeon

The Church and A Practical Guide to Family Worship are currently being translated into Spanish through some of our friends in Ecuador.

We’ve redesigned Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically with a fresher look, a slimmer tuck box, and fewer discs. We’ve also added digital access with every purchase. They should be in stock soon!

You asked. We listened. Puritan: All of Life to the Glory of God Collector’s Edition (including over five hours of never-before-released interviews, digital access, and a limited edition NFT) and Puritan: All of Life to the Glory of God Feature Edition are now available!

Check out The Puritan Path: Photographs of Puritan Sites here.

We are working on Behold Your God: Seeking Him Early, a children’s curriculum for ages 6-11. We’ve been working on this for about two years and we have taken the first two Behold Your God studies and brought them down to a child’s level. We hope to release the 10-11 curriculum and the other two age groups shortly after.

We are nearing the end of making our first short study in our new Bible Study Series. This first study is with John on the book of Judges. We hope to release it this winter.

We also want to put together a 5-volume hardback set on Christological books that are out of print and ask that you would be in prayer for that.

These projects require a lot of wisdom and patience. We ask that you often remember Media Gratiae at the throne of grace. Plead with God that He would help us walk very near Him.

Again, thank you for whatever way you have been able to be a part of these things. We don't take that for granted. Financial gifts are helpful. Without them, we couldn't do the things we do. But please hear us: The nearness of God is essential.

from mg friends:

Thank you for putting all this beautiful information that brings God’s Word to life. We will be showing everything we have purchased from you to all who would allow us to. It seems that people who are desperately lost are the ones that embrace God’s word from my experience as a social worker. Church people seem to turn away from the deep, deep study of God’s Word. Not one homeless person, prostitute, addict, or people who are in prison where my husband volunteers, or the groups I lead after work, have run away from the groups we voluntary lead.

I wanted to send you a quick note to apologize for asking you to look into a credit card charge this week. As it turns out my husband and I clearly think alike and have similar tastes in gifts, as we discovered that we both purchased the Puritan documentary on the same day for each other for our anniversary. I didn’t mention the two charges to my husband because I had gotten the DVDs as a gift for him, and so I did not know that the other purchase was made by him. Again, I am so sorry to have asked you to take the time to look into that without needing to! Clearly, we really enjoy your films and are very thankful for how our family is being helped by them!

Thank you so much for what you do! Your podcasts and studies are such an encouragement (and redirection) to worship the Almighty God in this post-modern age of self-worship (sadly, even in the church). Keep up the great work by God’s grace!
